Repair CSV Encoding and Quoting Problems

Fix broken rows caused by delimiters, quotes, embedded newlines or encoding.

How to diagnose and repair the issue

  1. Confirm the file uses UTF-8 text
  2. Check whether the export uses commas, tabs or another delimiter
  3. Quote fields containing delimiters or newlines
  4. Double quote marks inside quoted fields
  5. Reopen the exported file and compare row counts

Avoid editing CSV in spreadsheet software that silently reformats IDs.

Check the fix

Keep an untouched copy of your source feed. Run the relevant check again, inspect flagged rows and compare a small sample with your store catalog. Merchant Center may apply additional requirements by country, product category and destination.
